The general purpose of the organization is to provide retirees and pre-retirees with a forum for the exchange of experiences and ideas in areas of mutual interest in retirement. Specific activities, under the leadership of appointed Permanent Committee chairpersons, shall include the following:
A. Assist the individual members in understanding and developing opportunities for achieving a meaningful retirement.
B. Provide to members the opportunity to improve the quality of life in retirement by encouraging and supporting participation in activities such as education, hobbies, recreation and travel.
C. Promote volunteer support for the extension and enhancement of Caltech and JPL activities.
D. Provide a forum for continued interest and growth in professional and service areas.
E. Provide a focal point for volunteer activities of high interest to retirees.
F. Provide a forum and means whereby members may obtain updated information on mutually important topics, such benefits as retirement, insurance, Social Security, etc.
G. Maintain an interactive communication link about ARC activities, to all members, through the ARC Light newsletter and other appropriate electronic dissemination means such as e-mail, the ARC Web site, and through the Internet. Information transfer by lectures and presentations will be used where appropriate.
